Elizabeth Patricia Cohill passed away at Arden Hill Hospital on November 22, 2005 after a long illness. She was 86 years old.

The daughter of the late Charles and Rose Gorman, Elizabeth was born in Fairbault, Minn. She grew up in Owatonna, Minn. and lived with her husband in Irvington-on-Hudson, N.Y.; Salisbury, Md., Towson, Md.; Boykins, Va.; and Williamsburg, Va. and retired with her husband in the Glen Arden retirement community in Goshen.

Elizabeth was a former Lieutenant Jg. in the United States Navy. She attained her degree in nursing at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. and served there as an operating room nurse prior to her Naval career. She spent most of her Navy experience at Corona Naval Hospital in Corona, Calif. when many wounded men and women were coming back from service in the battles in the Pacific during World War II.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Roger W. Cohill, five children: Mary Pat Cohill of New York City, Rosemary Plunkett and husband Kevin of Tarrytown, N.Y., Dr. Andrew M. Cohill and wife Terrie of Blacksburg, Va., Kitty Desimone and husband Jim of Tarrytown, N.Y., Betsy FauntLeRoy and husband Alex of Ocean Pines, Md.; 14 grandchildren: Kathryn Plunkett, Colleen Plunkett, Kevin Plunkett, Kelly Plunkett, Carolyn Plunkett, Thea Cohill, Allie Cohill, Flannery Cohill, Emily Desimone, Gregory Desimone, Molly Desimone, Chloe FauntLeRoy, Hannah FauntLeRoy, and one great-granddaughter: Mikayla Rose Pohl. She was predeceased by one granddaughter, Madeleine FauntLeRoy.

Visitation will be at the Donovan Funeral Home in Goshen on Friday, November 25, from 3-7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church on Murray Avenue in Goshen on Saturday, November 26 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in the Orange County Veteran's Cemetery in Goshen.
