Cathy B Cohill Gallagher

Catherine Cohill Gallagher, age 78 of Glen Ellyn, IL passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. Born on May 28, 1944 in Baltimore, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late James Andrew and Mary Agnes Browne Cohill.

Catherine was best friends with her husband of 53 years, Robert Conroy Gallagher, who passed away in September 2020. In addition to her parents and husband, Catherine was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and William Cohill, and one sister, Mary Helen Horn.

Catherine is survived by her daughter, Susan Catherine Gallagher; her son, Michael Robert Gallagher, one grandchild, Kaitlyn Gallagher; brothers, James Cohill, Stephen Cohill, Charles Cohill, Benjamin Cohill, and Patrick Cohill; and sisters, Regina Miller, Agnes Martin, and Marguerite Branch.

Cathy graduated in 1966 with a bachelor’s degree from St. Joseph College in Emmitsburg, Maryland. She later completed two Master’s Degrees—in counseling and social work. Cathy worked as a social worker in hospitals until she retired and began her dedicated service as a volunteer for the Science of Spirituality International Meditation Center in Lisle, Illinois. Along with her husband, Cathy planned and delivered talks on topics related to meditation and spirituality for 22 years.
